According to Hale Vash, today, Tuesday, October 15, 2021, the identities of the two fuel tankers who lost their lives following a collision between two fuel tankers on the Iranshahr-Sarbaz highway in the village of Zebari Bog, Sarkoor District, Sarbaz County, were confirmed.
The identities of the two deceased tankers, "Arif Ganguzhi", a resident of Zahedan, and "Mohammad Islamzahi", have been confirmed by Halwash.
Two other people, named "Aslam" and "Ali", from the village of Zebari Bog, were also killed.
According to sources, the severity of the accident was such that two of the passengers were burned to death after being trapped inside the car, and their bodies were completely destroyed. Two other citizens were rescued with superficial injuries and were transferred to medical centers.
Sources added that the accident occurred on a steep section of the road due to high speed and loss of control of the vehicles. Considering that both vehicles were carrying smuggled fuel (diesel), their collision caused the vehicles to explode and catch fire quickly.
The substandard and dangerous roads of southern Balochistan, especially the routes leading to Sarbaz, Saravan and Iranshahr, have witnessed similar fatal accidents for Baloch fuel collectors many times in recent years. Lack of jobs, widespread poverty and the authorities’ indifference to the region’s economic development continue to force thousands of people to turn to fuel collectors as their only means of livelihood.
