
According to Hale Vash/Sahargah today, Sunday, November 14th, the death sentence of Qasim Abeste, a religious and political prisoner of the Sunni religion from Mahabad, was executed in Qazalhasar prison in Karaj after serving 13 years and 9 months of imprisonment.
This Sunni prisoner was transferred to one of the solitary cells of this prison on Sunday 7th of November to execute the death sentence.
Qasim Abeste was arrested in February 2008. After 14 months of indecision in Evin and Urmia prisons, he was transferred to Rajaei Shahr Prison in Karaj in 2019. He was finally transferred to Qezlhasar prison in Karaj in August of this year.
Mr. Abaste faced accusations such as Moharebeh through support of "Salafi groups", a charge that this prisoner himself has denied.
The death sentence of Qasim Abeste, along with Anwar Khezri, Kamran Sheikha, Farhad Salimi, Khosro Basharat, Ayoub Karimi and Daud Abdullahi, seven Sunni prisoners imprisoned in Qazalhasar prison in Karaj, was confirmed by Branch 41 of the Supreme Court on 14th of Bahman 2018.
