Sistan and Baluchistan province is one of the largest provinces in the country, which shares a 1,100 km land border with Afghanistan and Pakistan and a 300 km water border with the Sea of Oman or Makran.
The current size of this province is about 11% of Iran's territory, and despite its abundant mineral resources and special strategic location in the region, it is unfortunately one of the poorest and most deprived provinces in the country.
According to the experts and political and social activists of the opposition, the plan to divide ethnic provinces such as Sistan and Baluchistan is a preventive strategy of the government in order to curb the feelings and national, geographical cohesion and prevent the national and religious tendencies of the Baloch people, and they believe According to the past experience, the division and division of the province has not led to the removal of discrimination and deprivation, as we currently have non-native governors and officials, definitely with the division of the province into several separate provinces, the number of non-native governors and officials will multiply.
But in contrast to the government with different slogans and arguments for de-privation, more efficiency and quality of development affairs and the possibility of receiving more funds and providing social amenities and educational and cultural facilities, increasing financial credits, growth of industries, prosperity of trade and agriculture, creating More job opportunities and sustainable development, etc., justify the division plan of the province.
But the Baloch people and the opposition of Balochistan consider these promises to be fake and demagogic and claim that various discriminations are rampant more than ever and that Kapri schools still exist in the province, and most of the administrative and government jobs are given to non-natives. and many Baloch university graduates are unemployed while non-natives are easily employed and they believe that the plan to divide and divide the province is just a false illusion and an illogical claim by the authorities and in the current provincial capital in addition to the manager Provincial governors and officials who are non-Baloch, even mayors and governors are non-native and imported, and they think it is very sad and naive that if we believe that the responsibility of the newly established provinces will be handed over to the Baloch.
During the reign of Reza Shah, Balochistan was divided into three provinces, and many Baloch people of Kerman, South Khorasan, and Hormozgan not only lost their connection with Baloch and Balochistan, but their next generations lost their mother tongue (Baluchi), which is the root of a nation's identity. and also they have lost their Sunni religion and have become Twelver Shia and they carry only the name Baloch and they further state that with these policies during the past eighty years, a part of the body of Baloch and Baluchistan has been removed from its body. separated and believe that
Baloch people, despite the numerous deprivations, discriminations and oppressions, have a specific national, linguistic, religious, cultural, social, historical and geographical identity related to them and insist on their coherent and continuous political, religious, administrative and social existence in Iran. .
Most of the Baloch people agree that the plan of "partition" is actually a clear enemy to their historical, geographical and religious identity and they consider such an unwise act to be a continuation of de-identification and in line with their forced disappearance.
And in this regard, many scholars and influential and well-known people of the province have recently warned that such an action on the part of the government has caused widespread insecurity and led to the defense of the Baloch nation's existence and national, political and religious identity and its ancient land and in In fact, it will be a war of survival, the danger of which will be much more serious in the future.
According to the majority of the Baloch people, the most important point in the plan to divide the province, which is more visible than before and has forced different sections of the people to react, is the demand of the security and intelligence institutions and their puppet agents, such as Habibullah Dehmarde and Dr. Ali Shahriari, who By insisting on the plan to divide the province, they beat the drum of differences in order to secure their interests.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that all Sunni representatives of the Baloch people in the Majlis and famous Sunni scholars and Friday imams and different sections of the people have unanimously declared their opposition to the plan to divide the province and warned of the dangerous consequences of this plan if it is implemented. In this regard, some experts also emphasize that with the official division of the province, the name of the province and the family ties of the families will be lost, such as the Baloch cities that were joined to the provinces of Kerman, Hormozgan and South Khorasan in the past, not only that there has been no progress. but a problem has been created in terms of security.
According to experts, the division of Sistan and Baluchistan province is different from the division of other provinces, and this issue can be sensitive and fuel differences in the province and even the country.
